- Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a facilitative leader to join our Corporate Real Estate group in the position of
- **Manager, Facilities & Projects.**

- **Manager, Facilities & Projects **will be responsible for executing initiatives surrounding the management and maintenance of multiple facilities across Durham Region. - Manage a team of front-line managers and maintenance staff, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure optimal safety, environmental and quality performance of the workplace.
- Analyze internal and external operating experience and recommend corrective actions and improvement initiatives to the Senior Manager, Facilities and Projects.
- Lead and coordinate the Facility maintenance department to establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure efficient workflow for assigned asset portfolio.
- Assist in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime and optimize productivity. Manage the implementation of Company and Site policies, providing functional advice and guidance relating to same, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable governance and legislative requirements including but not limited to the areas of Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, and Finance. Conduct and support regular audits of Safety, Environmental and Quality processes and take corrective actions to address any deficiencies. Conduct regular field visits with staff providing feedback on performance.
- Conduct strategic planning and business planning activities in support of the Sr. Manager Facilities and Projects. Analyze departmental cost drivers and suggest opportunities for efficiencies and/or reduction of waste. Conduct regular analysis of costs associated with facilities maintenance and operations, course correct as necessary and advise Sr. Manager Facilities and Projects.
- Maintain positive working relationships with unions and other stakeholders through regular communication. Represent management in joint processes, e.g., Power Workers Union, Society of United Professionals & Electrical Power Sector Construction Association Grievance Reviews, Mediation/Arbitration, Joint Health and Safety and other Committees.
- Take accountability for Health, Safety and Environment programs and initiatives as applicable to the Facilities & Projects department in a timely and efficient manner. Mitigate as applicable all related health, safety and environmental incidents in a timely and effective manner. Maintain an action tracking database to track progress on milestones and deliverables.
- Workforce Planning and Development - Develop a positive, professional work environment which attracts, develops and provides career advancement opportunities for high performers. Develop and implement a succession plan and support direct reports in the implementation of individual development plans.

**EDUCATION**
- Post Secondary or equivalent experience working in facility management

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of 8-10 years of facilities management experience.
- Previous experience managing large teams and/or projects (preferably in manufacturing or property management).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experienced in a unionized environment considered an asset.
- Prior experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to provide guidance.
- Proven ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure stakeholder requirements
