Head Chef

**Essentials**:
- MINIMUM 1 year as a Chef or 3 plus years experience in a Sous Chef role or equivalent
- 5 plus Years plus experience working in a fine dining restaurant or fast-paced casual fine dining restaurant
- Must be Innovative, creative, organized, clean, passionate and possess culinary management experience.
- Must be an excellent communicator
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be well versed in large banquet style services and à la carte
- Must have strong leadership skills
Must have good customer skills. (Able to interact with guests if need be and interdepartmental staff)
- Must have some knowledge in menu planning, cost control, creating
- daily specials and seasonal menus
**Responsibilities**:
- Overseeing all kitchen operations and reporting to the company’s Executive Chef
- Maintain records of food costs and inventory
- Placing orders using up to ten different vendors
- Recruit and hire staff
- Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
- Assist in the creation of recipe standards both batch and plated.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Prepare soups, sauces, salad dressings and ensure food preparation / storage areas exceed health and safety standards.
- Ensures menu creativeness and the development
- Ensures safety in the workplace by educating employees about the various safety policies.
- Ensures the daily inspection of all food stations and that all checklists have been filled out.
- Execute quarterly employee evaluations.
- Oversee that all internal human resource policies are followed..
- Update food descriptions prior to new menu implementation.
- Ensure daily that all fridges/freezers are monitored and that all temperature checklists have been filled out.
- Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
**Salary**: $58,500.00-$63,500.00 per year
