Cambridge Elevating, the premium residential elevator manufacturer is looking to hire a full time employee. Our purpose is to design and build the best residential elevator equipment that allows people to age in place, build houses on a smaller plot of land, live their life with a higher degree of comfort, & overcome accessibility needs.

At Cambridge Elevating our normal shift is currently **6:30am-5:00pm** Monday to Thursday leading to a **3 day weekend**. We're located at 181 Shearson Cres, Cambridge Ont.

Hourly wage: $21.30 - 23.00 to start depending on experience. There is room for growth in the company for motivated people and we have an excellent track record of promoting from within. As part of the compensation package for full time permanent employees, we offer benefits (after 3 months) and an RRSP contribution matching plan (after 1 year). Also, there are 2 weeks of vacation that accrue over time served.

Our operations are located at 181 Shearson Cres just behind the ice park on Franklin, in Cambridge. This is in close proximity to the iXpress, 53, 75, & 60 bus routes. At our shop we have additional employee benefits that include a fitness facility on site with showers, and a full kitchen.

**Duties of those in the department**:

- Cutting sheet wood, & plywood accurately and quickly
- Building floors & ceilings
- Assembling elevator cabs
- Edge banding sheet wood
- Tack welding weld-nuts
- Welding 1x1" tube frames and bulkheads
- Photographing finished goods
- Exhibiting high attention to detail
- Must have excellent communication
- Must have mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools
- Must be able to work in a performance based team
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Must work safely at all times
- Team oriented attitude and dedication

**Duties of the team lead**:

- Assign jobs to the team effectively using their strengths
- Help to find solutions to production issues
- Take responsibility for inventory
- Ensure effective team work within the department and between departments
- Look for opportunities for improvement (efficiency, cost cutting)
- Maintain production rates & targets
- Take responsibility for cab quality and online quality checks

This job would be an excellent fit for anyone looking for leadership positions in manufacturing, experienced cabinet makers, carpenters, or hobbyist wood workers with leadership experience.

Adding to the woodworking skill set of the team is desirable, but leading the team effectively is the main objective of this position.
