Munchies Cannabis is an independent, locally owned family operated cannabis retail store in Ottawa. We are building a team of passionate, knowledgeable budtenders to provide our guests with the best possible experience. Munchies Cannabis is located at 131B Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, K1M 1L5.

**Job description/summary**:
**Budtenders are at the heart of the customer experience **- they will assist guests with any questions they may have, help them find the right products, and carry out transactions. They must be knowledgeable about cannabis plants, cannabis products and cannabis regulations. Must also have exceptional customer service and be willing to ensure the experience of our customers is above and beyond with every single client.

**Duties**:

- Welcome guests to the store and ensure that each individual is 19+.
- **Extensive knowledge in Cannabis products and production**:

- Engage with guests within the store and help them find the right cannabis products.
- Receive cannabis product shipments from the Ontario Cannabis Store.
- Ensure that store security protocols are followed.
- Move inventory throughout the store (restocking, facing displays and fulfilling purchases).
- Maintain a clean store environment (sweeping, moping, disinfecting surfaces, dusting).
- Operating point-of-sale systems and using a cash register to complete transactions.
- Conducting cannabis product inventory counts.

**All applicants are required to be**:

- able to receive a passing score for CannSell standard certification.
- all applicants are required to be proficient in COVA POS
- able to move loads up to 15 kg.
- able to stand for the duration of their shift.
- able to carry items up and down stairs.
- legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship or other limitation.
- at least 19 years of age.
- comfortable using computers for varied tasks.
- fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- **available to work up to 12-hour shifts.**:

- available to work as early as 5 AM if required by delivery schedule.*
- available to work on a part-time.*
- able to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and peak-summer times.*
- at a minimum, high school graduates or equivalent.
- able to wear a mask for the duration of their shift.
- **owning a vehicle is a must** **as you will be expected to carry out deliveries**:

- help with store projects is expected such as writing SOP's, research of products and for training

**Successful applicants will be**:

- Self-starters that look for ways to improve themselves and the store.
- Passionate and personable about helping guests.
- Honest with a strong set of workplace ethics.
- Sales oriented, while ensuring the customers needs are met.
- Knowledgeable about cannabis products, usage, and regulations.

**Preference will be given to individuals with**:

- previous retail sales experience.
- previous cannabis-related job experience.
- fluency in multiple languages.
- existing CannSell certification (standard or expert).
- **significant cannabis knowledge.**:

- college or university education.

**New employees will be required to submit a current and clear criminal background check before their first day of employment and may be asked to obtain a security clearance through a 3rd party service.**

- **Experience in a Legal Cannabis Dispensary (required)**

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 30 per week
