Ottawa, Canada King Logistics Full time

The project manager will guide all other team members in the efficient completion of each project. From pre-construction planning and scheduling to procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, project turnover, and contract closeouts, you will be in charge of all the project's administrative requirements.

What you will be doing
- Demonstrate an understanding of plans (arch, struct, MEP), ability to measure off plans, locate a detail, section, or elevation for a particular detail. Ability to read sections.
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic MEP systems, single line diagrams, ability to explain the location of systems and primary equipment
- Provide price analysis of directives, including some estimating skills
- Provide identification of cost related changes and identify potential issues on site during walk-throughs in coordination with the junior coordinator
- Demonstrate the ability to explain the sequence of tasks, and why it must occur this way (eg schedule predecessors)
- Demonstrate the ability to describe the company's position to a trade, professional or client, ability to refuse an extra, accept or disagree with an idea in principle be able to explain why
- Demonstrate the ability to draw a detail from scratch (sections or plan view), negotiate extras/ CO's strategically, use predecessors in MS Project, provide quote analysis and create scopes of work and addenda
- Create step 1 and step 2 (advanced leveling sheet)
- Demonstrate the ability to make unaided, independent analysis, scope gap completion, and recommendation on awards
- Track and send bidding RFIs
- Provide corrections and additions to levelling sheets, and create advanced levelling sheets
- Conduct site visits with professionals and provide an overview of site advancement to meet target dates
- Review of change orders in coordination with the junior coordinator and Price analysis for such change orders
- Follow-up on timely answers from professionals and identify missing information to execute the work
- Conduct site inspections and provide LEED coordination, documentation, and reports
- Coordinate shop drawings with pertinent subtrades for each discipline incl. distribution to all relevant trades
- Review and provide shop drawings analysis and compatibility before review by professionals for conformity with the plans
- Creation of a list of expected shop drawings based on the requirements in the specs

What you’ll need
- Engineering, Architecture, or a Construction Management Degree, specialized courses in construction management or equivalent experience and training preferred
- At least (10) years of work experience in construction project management (broad general experience, education and rotation through and exposure to several departments an asset)
- Current WHMIS certification and fall protection training (other licensure and/or certification in a discipline directly related to the requirements of this position is considered an asset but not expressly required)
- Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards, and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies
- Leadership and management experience

**Salary**: $95,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
