**Our expectations**

Under the direction of the Location General Manager / Location Manager DDC, the Operations Manager (OM) oversees daily (yard / delivery) management operations, which involves efficient product flow. The incumbent analyzes the forecasted production volume and re-evaluates resources throughout the day as workflow conditions change to meet customer demand. The OM works to achieve or exceed key performance indicator targets despite these fluctuating demands, resolves issues and is responsible for communicating business objectives and daily workload plans.

**Your role**
- Determine the workload (production volume) and monitor inventory movements in the facility frequently throughout the day
- Use the planning matrix to evaluate staffing needs to meet daily, weekly and monthly volume swings
- Communicate effectively with the management team regarding business objectives, safety issues, current issues, upcoming events and daily demand
- Build a culture of safety in the workplace. Identify any safety issues and notify the appropriate party for resolution
- Ensure that Supervisors live by our five core behaviours and follow their expectations manual
Interview and work with the Human Resources Business Partner in the hiring of personnel (seasonal and full-time team)
- Mentor, monitor and develop Supervisors’ performance
- Set their team up for success; to achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance and budget targets
- Participate and action succession planning
- Report key performance and financial figures to senior management and corporate
- Follow and develop labour budgets for all areas under your control
- Identify and assist in implementing process improvements or new processes launched from Supply Chain (customer-focused distribution)
- Expedite receiving, picking and shipping of priority product
- Ensure cross-training is completed and updated
- Conduct daily inspection of the physical condition of the Distribution Centre and equipment, directing necessary maintenance and/or repair
- Promote and develop a flexible labour environment with the Direct Distribution Centre
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Location Manager / Location General Manager

**The qualifications we are looking for**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of progressive management experience within a large-volume distribution centre environment
Ability to develop and lead a high-performing team
- Ability to build rapport and trust with others
- Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Experience working with an integrated warehouse management system (WMS) and transport management system (TMS)
- Ability to effectively lead projects from inspection to implementation
- Ability to make solid decisions quickly based on limited information and changing conditions
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and creatively resolve complex problems
- Effective work prioritization and time-management skills
- Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among subordinates and peers
