**Data Analyst & System Planner - Technology Department**

Under the direction of the Manager - Technology Department, the Business Analyst has a focus of accountability that includes data architecture, data analysis and reporting, enrollment reporting, business intelligence, and overall responsibility of the student information system and Ministry reporting (SIS and OnSIS). The Business Analyst is highly skilled in the objective presentation of data to school and system leaders.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Oversees staff responsible for the NNDSB Student Information System including OnSIS, report cards, and Ministry reporting.
- Effective provision of business intelligence, data analytics, and reports to Senior Administration and Principals
- Ensures that user communities (Superintendents, Principals, students, and parents) are provided with effective client support and are trained / prepared to make full use of the data and business intelligence tools presented to them.

**Leadership**:

- Manages direct reports by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations and monitoring performance
- Responsible for providing supports and development opportunities to direct reports to reach goals and objectives, as well as monitoring progress.
- Leads and assists direct reports to excel in effectiveness and efficiency in job performance and accountability
- Ensure direct reports are trained and understand internal and external changes that affect their job responsibilities
- Perform annual staff performance appraisals for direct reports.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field
- Proven supervisory experience with IT infrastructure and services.
- Proven experience with data and business intelligence tools such a SSRS, Power BI, development of SQL queries, and reporting tools
- Experience in all aspects of data architecture
- Skilled in the objective presentation of data
- Expertise in all aspects of data analytics, reporting, and system planning
- Proven leadership, mentoring and team building skills
- Ability to set priorities and manage issues in a political/business environment
- Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
- High emotional intelligence marked by integrity and visibility. A strong ethical code, holding self and others accountable with an open and transparent engagement style
- Leads by example and has the ability to lead a motivated team with diverse skill sets
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Responsive, and accessible to school administrators
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including associates, academic professionals, ministry officials and the public.
- Remains positive and motivational during high pressure situations
- High energy with the ability to maintain a demanding schedule that may include evening and weekend responsibilities

**The annual salary for this position is $68,762.00 plus a generous benefit package.**
