We are currently seeking a** full-time contract (37.5 hours per week) Payroll Specialist **to join our Finance team. As our Payroll Specialist, you will perform all tasks related to payroll and benefits administration, reconciliations, and support program managers, teams, and the Director of Finance. This is a **six month** contract.

CMHA Peel Dufferin has adapted a hybrid working model including a mix of on-site and remote work. All employees are required to have onsite presence 2 to 3 times per week, or more if needed as per program needs.

**Salary Range is $54,730 to $65,135 per year**

**What You Will Do**:

- Process bi-weekly payroll for 200+ salaried and hourly staff and assist with primary review and validation of data. Assist with audits and reconciliations of payroll processes and information
- Process all payroll changes including addresses, wage and salary increases, transfers, etc
- Perform benefit administration for all staff
- Act as main point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding payroll
- Perform accurate calculations related to sick bank, revised wage schedules, retroactive wage increases, etc.
- Prepare annual employee appraisals and distribute to managers with proper payroll approval form
- Complete ROEs in accordance with legislative requirements and CMHA PD policy
- Ensure payment and remittance of payroll related requirements (WSIB, Employer Health Tax)
- Liaise with Finance, HR, program managers and other partners on payroll-related projects
- Assist with preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reconciliations of all payroll-related General Ledger accounts (Great Plains General Ledger system), T4 / T4A quarterly and annual reconciliations in a timely manner
- Support the preparation and review of all banking, financial, statistical and remittance reports, journals, submissions, manual cheque requisitions, bank transfers, uploads and/or downloads
- Complete bank deposits for cheques and cash, and process credit card payments
- Stay current on relevant legislation and best practices, current research, policies, and procedures

**What You Need to Join Our Team**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, HR, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years hands-on and recent full-cycle payroll/ benefits administration experience with 200+ employees in a fast-paced environment
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required
- Experience with payroll software/ HRIS (e.g., Quadrant Workforce, QHRnet) and Time and Attendance software
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Canada-wide payroll legislation, regulations, and employment standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Great Plains an asset
- Keen attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality in finance and payroll matters at all times
- Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task with confidence in a busy environment
- Experience in a non-profit organization is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile in good repair and insurance coverage
- Satisfactory police records check and vulnerable sector screening
- Proof of administered full-series Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccination prior to start date. If unable to be vaccinated for reasons relating to protected grounds under the Code, completed medical or religious exemption must be provided
