Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) supports Alberta's economic, social and environmental success by building and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system.

Economic Corridors are trade corridors that provide vital links to markets in and out of Alberta, supporting economic, social, and environmental activity. They connect two or more centers of economic activity (population centers, industry hubs, centers of production) through infrastructure, logistics, technology and policy. This can involve a broad range of infrastructure, including transportation, energy, power, telecommunications and other utilities. In addition to physical infrastructure, corridors include service markets and the coordination of regulations and policies across multiple jurisdictions and/or sectors.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Under the general direction of the Director, Economic Corridors this position provides leadership, knowledge and strategic coordination of the work of the Economic Corridors team, composed of Sr. Policy Analysts and Policy Advisors.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of recommendations in alignment with established priorities and processes. This includes identifying next steps regarding the development of priority corridors.
- Maintain ongoing and lead new economic-corridor based engagements with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in or affected by economic corridors.
- Manage the development of briefing notes, presentations, action request responses, research papers, recommendations, ministerial correspondence, information projects, and other documents/products to inform Executive Team and Minister.
- Lead the team in a strong, systems thinking approach, in particular the identification of impacts, interconnections and/or unintended consequences for economic corridor work.
- Contribute to the development of the annual operational planning, budgeting and forecasting for the unit.

This position works in a fast paced environment where some overtime may be required evenings and/or weekends.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- University degree in a field related to the position assignment PLUS four years related experience.

**Equivalency**:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
