As one of Canada's largest marine engineering integrators, we are looking for talented individuals to bring their skills to Fleetway as we lead the way in Canadian naval defence contracts (In Service Support). Our work is project focused on government ship design and support, including warships, ferries, ice-breakers and commercial vessels.

We currently have a new opportunity for a** Technical Editor (Translation)** This position will work in our Technical Translation Department and report to the manager of that department. The role will primarily involve the provision of support to Fleetway’s project teams in the control and issuance of engineering documents, version control and data entry.

We are looking for an individual that consistently takes initiative, is bright, energetic, pays attention to the details and is adept at setting priorities. This person must also enjoy working as a team but is also comfortable working alone, is a quick learner and **THRIVES** under time constraints

**Key Responsibilities and Outcomes**:

- Learn, perform and optimize key activities supporting translation and language-related tasks and activities.
- Assist with information creation, modification, transfer, receipt, registration, distribution, database administration, data entry, and transmittal with both internal and external clients in an engineering/construction environment.
- Ensure quality of visual and technical elements involved in publication creation and modification.
- Arranging or editing photos, other graphics as well as CAD data from technical groups.
- Adhere to company standards and protocols.
- Demonstrate good skill and understanding in document, content and data management systems, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

**Skill, Capabilities, and Experience**:

- College or University graduate in English, Communications, Journalism or other Arts and Technology programs preferred
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
- Editing and writing skills considered a strong asset
- Bilingualism or working knowledge of French considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing
- Experience in graphic/compositional tools such as Corel or Adobe Photoshop considered an asset
- Must have high attention to detail and be comfortable with complex verifications or technical content
- Experience with data module approaches such as S1000D considered an advantage

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance
