**TD Business Management, Strategy and Governance** covers all TD business management, governance and control functions. Team Culture

One of the things that the TD Lab team prides themselves about is our team culture. It's not uncommon to see kiddos join video calls or for a team member to take a meeting while walking their dog. In the warmer months, there's usually a few of us outside for meetings. We have a weekly "Fundatory Friday" event where we play games together. There's at least one messaging channel dedicated to pictures of dogs and babies. We celebrate how terrible we are at March Madness Brackets.

**Job Description**:
Creative and experimental, TD Lab is a unique team within TD Bank, operating out of the Communitech Hub in Kitchener (currently working in a flexible hybrid model), solving customer problems by developing ideas using agile and design methodologies. This lean group of developers, designers, and analysts builds new solutions through ideation, design, prototyping, and tech partnerships, and brings new solutions to test in market. The business analyst team plays an integral role in defining the direction for the products and experiences we create.

The Innovation Analyst plays a key role in identifying and shaping early stage opportunities for TD Lab. They will work closely with colleagues within TD Lab, using an agile scrum methodology and a user experience focused development process to support the design, build, and test of new user-facing digital solutions. The analyst may work directly with additional TD partners to understand and to solve for high potential present and future problems. They may also work directly with supporting technology teams at TD to help enable both proof of concept development and production development of high-potential solutions.

The Innovation Analyst will also work directly with university co-op students through both project work and mentorship, providing guidance, knowledge, and support to these colleagues in an accessible way.

As an analyst on this team, you will also have an opportunity to explore emerging technologies and market trends, and be empowered to start/stop projects because of what the market tells you. Job Responsibilities:

- Work with TD Lab colleagues and other TD stakeholders to understand business priorities, market opportunities, problems, research, and key areas of interest
- Conduct or review market research through primary and secondary sources to deeply understand customer problems and their root cause
- Effectively communicate research findings, along with proposals for conceptual ideas and/or development approaches both verbally and visually
- Use design thinking methodologies, including building personas, storyboards, flowcharts, wireframes and prototypes
- Participate and support team standups and scrums to drive solution development and ensure solution is aligned with user needs
- Support go-to-market activities for early stage solutions, including surveys, test plans, marketing panels, and Proof of Concept planning
- Participate in knowledge transfers within the team and business units
- Investigate the potential of emerging and enabling technologies (e.g. AI, VR/AR, big data, open banking, platform features)
- Work with co-op students in a mentorship role, and support resume reviews and interviews to hire co-ops each term.
- Represent the lab at public events including hackathons, conferences, and recruiting events.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues / points of interest
