Position Overview:
The Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring Herbaland's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety. This position is responsible for conducting regulatory filings, coordinating licensing and registration activities, and assisting in foreign product registration. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist also collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain necessary documents, facilitate third-party audits, and ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements. This is a Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday position where overtime is available if required.

Please find the key responsibilities of the Regulatory Affair Specialist as follows:

- Review formulas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Conduct regulatory filings and maintain accurate documentation.
- Handle and coordinate licensing and registration processes.
- Assist in foreign product registration and respond to customer inquiries related to regulatory compliance.
- Develop documents for Natural Product Numbers (NPN), Site License, Organic Certification, non-GMO verification, and export documents.
- Review and improve all documents in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and NSF standards.
- Review and approve quality control (QC) documentation, such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs), forms, and other relevant documents.
- Assist in third-party audits and inspections of the company.
- Coordinate label development, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage label receiving and disposal processes to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Conduct nutritional analysis and calculations using ESHA Genesis nutrition software.
- Establish and maintain product specifications for safety and quality, including research and development documents.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality requirements and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on Canadian Food and Drugs Act and Regulations, as well as other consumer packaging regulations.
- Possession of a Diploma or University Degree in Food Science or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Quality Systems, with a strong understanding of measurement and test equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Food and Drugs Act and Regulations, as well as other consumer packaging regulations.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, including GMPs, HACCP, HARPC, SFCR, SQF, and global regulatory requirements.
- Experience with third-party audits and inspections.
