**Director, Member Relations**

The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) is the voice of Canada’s investment funds industry. IFIC brings together approximately 150 organizations, including fund managers, dealers, and industry service providers, to strengthen the integrity of the investment funds industry, to foster public confidence in investment funds, thus helping Canadian investors to achieve good outcomes. IFIC contributes significantly to the success and sustainability of the entire wealth management and investment fund industry, a sector that has approximately $2.4 trillion in assets under management and provides leading retail investment solutions for Canadians.

**About the Role**

Reporting to IFIC’s President and CEO, the Director, Member Relations, will serve on the executive team that sets the strategic direction for IFIC. The role supports the development of IFIC’s strategic plan to demonstrate and grow our value proposition to all members keeping them informed and supported. Working directly with Policy, Research, and Public Affairs associates, the role also supports IFIC’s knowledge base of investment solutions, their administration and their regulation.

The Director should consistently demonstrate superior technical expertise and, as importantly, superior interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, executives, IFIC members, and other stakeholders from the investment industry at large. The main responsibilities are as follows:

- Develop and manage a set of objectives that will enhance member relations and services
- Support the IFIC Committee(s) and their respective work-plans
- Manage on-going relations with CIRO
- Lead relations with designated member segments
- Support and participate in working groups, and task forces as assigned and relevant to the role
- Proactively engage in broad industry trends, providing analysis and support
- Support new member enquiries and their due diligence
- Participate and contribute to IFIC, as well as industry, events and webinars
- Support Member Services and Communications as set out in the annual plans

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 10 years of experience in dealer operations, national accounts, or advisor relations
- Experience in the investment fund industry is essential; knowledge of ETF industry important
- Strong knowledge of investment operations, as well as product management
- Experience developing, supporting and executing strategic plans
- Effective relationship and project management skills
- Ability to act independently while also being a collaborative colleague
- Superior writing skills for the development of content for complex technical/business issues
- Bilingual capability is an asset (english and french)

This role is based in Toronto and has limited travel. The office currently operates in a hybrid environment with an expectation of senior management having a minimum 2 day/week presence.
