We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Manager, Consumer Loans Administration to join our team in our **Lagimodiere** branch. As the Assistant Manager, Consumer Loans Administration, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of operational plans, achievement of business results, leading a team, and compliance in all areas relating to loans administration in the area of consumer lending.
**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Provide day to day leadership to the Consumer Loans Administration team (including staffing decisions, monthly coaching and performance management)
- Foster a strong team environment that will attract, retain and develop existing and potential staff; assist in the establishment and guidance of various consumer loan administration working groups
- Establish work plans, organize, schedule and monitor administrative activities to ensure service delivery is provided within prescribed service level requirements, complying with all SCU policies, procedures and best practices
- Provide guidance and support to the Loan Administration Trainers by identifying and coordinating team specific training & development needs for administration staff
- Investigate and resolve service-related issues or questions as required, escalating those outside of authority level or scope of influence
- Ensure maintenance of quality file documentation and adherence to Credit Union documentation and policy/procedure requirements
- Assist with the development, interpretation and implementation of policies, best business practices and procedures relating to consumer loans administration
- Review reporting and metrics and conduct administrative procedural compliance audits to identify issues and take required action, escalating issues to other levels of leadership or functions as required
- Participate in the development of departmental budgets and operational plans; ensuring staffing levels and discretionary spending remains within budgeted levels
- Ensure validation of lending documentation relating to taking of security, etc.
- Develop, maintain and model a thorough knowledge of credit union policies, procedures and corporate values
- Maintain up to date knowledge of SCU’s products and services
- Stay abreast of trends and issues that may have functional or branch impact
- Actively participate in professional development courses, conference and learning activities beyond required training; promote continuous learning to staff members

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 diploma, plus a minimum of 2 years post-secondary education, additional legal (such as a legal assistant program), and/or administration courses
- 4 to 6 years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of credit union/FI operations
- Demonstrated understanding of contracts and legal processes (ex. Land titles, powers of attorney, etc.)
- Working knowledge of lending policies, regulatory environments, and business structures
- Working knowledge of loan/mortgage documentation and security requirements for consumer lending
- Software proficiency in Microsoft as well as experience with the DNA Banking System would be considered an asset.
