We are hiring a Project Manager Assistant for our client, a mid sized manufacturing company located 30-45 minutes outside of Edmonton. This company is a very established and well managed organization that supports a variety of different industries such as O&G, Mining, Agriculture, & Transportation.

**Please note: this location is NOT transit accessible **

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to shop supervisors, and upward reporting to senior management.
- Research all aspects of potential new projects to ensure capabilities, deadlines, materials, etc can be delivered.
- Provide daily updates on the status of ongoing jobs in the shops. This includes reporting progress and addressing concerns as they arise.
- Identify systems either currently in use or under development that lack necessary technical documentation as it relates to system design characteristics.
- Attend client meetings alongside the Project Manager as a second set of eyes/ears to identify nuanced needs that the client may not be expressly conveying.
- Remain current on assigned projects to act as an alternate point of contact to the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager by following up on various outstanding requests to other departments when necessary.
- Identify and use the appropriate corrective action when a deficiency is detected.
- Meet with new suppliers to improve efficiency and/or product quality.
- Liaise with Engineering/Drafting staff and Technical Project Coordinators when required.
- Ensure all assigned projects have proper documentation upon completion including customer signatures.
- Perform ongoing physical inspections of assigned projects to confirm quality is consistent with expectations.
- Travel to customer locations to discuss requirements of potential projects, if necessary.
- Work with the Engineering/Design department to assemble a concise owner/operator’s manual and ensure completed in time for unit delivery.
- Attend final assembly review to ensure everything is completed to specifications. Ensure any non-documented changes are recorded in the drawings and work orders and filed for future reference.
- Ensure all testing and inspections of equipment is performed, documented, and filed.
- Access Discovery Solutions Inc (DSI) to monitor current projects hours and costs and communicate specific needs or concerns if requested.
- Lead-by-example across the organization regarding acceptable behavior, positive attitude, work ethic, work quality, safety, company policies and customer service.
- Continuous knowledge of industry news, legislation, economy, and information as it relates to the organization.

**MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator, or Project Assistant
- Intermediate Excel skills (data entry, graph manipulation, basic formulas, etc)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (or similar)
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Mature, confident, and humble demeanor
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others

**LIKE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Related academic education or successful completion of a Project Management training program0
- Experience using AutoCAD or Inventor software
- Past experience working in an ISO9001 organization

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $33.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
