Scarborough Retirement Residence is a family owned stand-alone community

If you are the successful applicant, you will be hired and report directly to the Environmental Services Manager

You must have experience taking care of the various components that typically are found in a multi-residential community and an understanding of how these components should be maintained and repaired.

You have the skills and knowledge to complete small repairs in apartments and common areas. Painting, drywall, carpentry and ceramic tile. Using equipment to strip and clean floors, carpet extractor and other common maintenance equipment to complete heavy housekeeping tasks.

You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with seniors and can work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults.

You take working in a safe and clean environment seriously and have or will get “Joint Health and Safety Certificate”

You are comfortable working on a computer with the Microsoft Office software.

You can update, monitor and report on regular scheduled maintenance for the facilities boilers, sprinklers, generator, elevators and other equipment as required

**Qualifications**:

- You are can follow oral, written and digital instruction in English.
- You must be capable of performing the necessary physical duties including the movement of heavy objects, the pushing and pulling of floor scrubbers, waxing and polishing as well as carpet extractors and are able to carry out minor repairs to the facility including equipment.
- Knowledge and training in maintaining building systems including electrical, mechanical, infection control, cleaning and maintenance required
- Able to maintain a budget, complete written requests for all necessary items to complete tasks and assignments to keep a detailed track record of the work completed.
- Must have the required Vulnerable Sector Check to work in a Licensed Retirement Home or be willing to obtain one.
