Kirmac currently operates 18 locations across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

The Information Technology Specialist plays a key role in developing, implementing, supporting, maintaining, configuring, and operating computer systems and solutions within the IT department of Kirmac. This role also involves providing advanced and prompt IT support for non-technical users. An intermediate-level understanding of the IT infrastructure is expected, including hardware, software, and network components. The Information Technology Specialist reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, test, implement and oversee IT systems.
- Respond to and manage IT helpdesk tickets, including onsite and remotely. This includes but is not limited to:

- New user setup
- Setting up, diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware: Windows workstations, point-of-sale terminals, multi-function devices, VOIP devices, mobile phones, and tablets.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on systems and hardware.
- Implement automotive diagnostics technology for multiple car brands.
- Assist with procurement of IT hardware and accessories, including asset management.
- Establish, execute, and enforce policies and protocols across the software development lifecycle to optimize software product efficiency, effectiveness, and quality, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and user needs.
- Manage cyber security awareness testing and training for all users.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation.
- Respond to critical IT events outside of regular business hours, as required.

**Requirements**:

- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 2+ years of customer service orientated, help desk experience, including use of ticketing systems, remote management tools, RMM and MDM solutions, and performing system administration tasks.
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft solutions including but not limited to Windows, 365, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- 2+ years of experience leading IT projects/implementations - initialize, research, development, test, and deploy.
- Valid BC driver’s license and vehicle to travel to/from Kirmac locations. Mileage compensated.

**Assets**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with web-hosting, Apache, IIS, Windows Server, cron job, MFA, OAuth.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of IT security concepts and basic understanding of Firewall and Endpoint Security.
