The Clinical Scholar functions as a clinical educator with a key focus of supporting new hires, new grads, and front line nursing staff who are requiring up skilling in a coaching/mentorship role. This role will be instrumental in identifying knowledge gaps, understanding educational needs, providing education and obtaining feedback to better support nursing resources and retention on an ongoing basis. Key to this success is supporting the orientation program providing timely regular touch points with new hires, new grads, and nurses requiring upskilling to help them feel supported with appropriate education and resources on an ongoing basis.
**Qualifications Required**:
Working towards/currently possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Masters in Nursing degree, or equivalent related experience
Minimum of 10 years of work-related experience in Nursing - at least 5 years experience in Medicine/surgery
Registered Nurse currently registered with the Ontario College of Nurses in good standing.
Certification in Adult Education an asset
Demonstrated experience and superior knowledge of project management, development, evaluation and creative learning strategies.
Demonstrated leadership in facilitating educational events.
Outcome oriented
Change management knowledge (including Adult Learning Theory) and skills
Strong written and computer skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with self-awareness of personal contributions in maintaining a positive team environment while utilizing advanced communication skills
Demonstrated strong clinical skills
Experience with LEAN training or change management an asset
Knowledge of equipment (computers, A/V, etc)
Satisfactory performance appraisal and attendance records in present position.
Self-direction and flexibility essential.
Commitment to Service Excellence.
Satisfactory vulnerable person’s sector criminal background check.
Must have and provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization (2 or more doses)
