DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as an expert resource for all regulatory matters affecting the operations of Elexicon Energy.
- Develops advocacy positions and represents Elexicon Energy in government, regulatory and industry stakeholder consultations.
- Works in collaboration with VP and provides expertise and strategic direction on regulatory issues while identifying and mitigating major risks
- Prepares and reviews all materials related to regulatory submissions, including regulatory deferral and variance accounts, and assist in the preparation of witnesses for regulatory proceedings.
- Develops, prepares and delivers internal communication plans to support regulatory filings, develop advocacy for policy changes in support of business objectives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strategizes, develops and implements a regulatory compliance plan.
- Ensures Elexicon Energy is in compliance with all regulatory requirements, including data collection, reporting, implementation of internal process changes and record keeping.
- Monitors the energy and regulatory policy environment including legislation and regulations.
- Maintains the Conditions of Service document and leading the preparation of any updates.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with the Affiliate Relations Code.
- Supports and develops policies by conducting policy research and preparing presentations, letters, reports, and other documentation with policy recommendations.
- Other duties as required may be considered part of these responsibilities.
- Fosters creativity and innovation and actively looks for new ideas to improve the operation of the unit.
- Promotes team development and coaching of staff.
- Sets the tone and fosters a culture that promotes ethical practices, the Corporation values including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct of the enterprise.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provides direction and supervision of health and safety policies to ensure that all departmental staff are operating in a safe environment.
