Reporting to the Project Manager of Asset Management, Planning and Sustainability in Design Construction and Asset Management (DCAM) division of Works, this position is responsible for the collection, organization, analysis, and maintenance of building condition assessment (BCA) data for the Region's 181 owned facilities.

**The incumbent will**:

- Develop specifications for BCA requirements included in the tender document for new facility construction and expansion projects through interviews and research involving the client, architect and design team
- Administer, develop, implement, evaluate, and revise policies, procedures, and standards as it relates to the Facilities Asset Management Program
- Provide budget forecasting for the development of short
- and long-term asset plans and capital improvements for Regional Facilities
- Execute the completion of detailed BCAs for Regional Facilities supported by other internal Regional resources (Facilities include all Plants, Depots, Paramedic Services, Transit, Child Care, Long-Term Care, Local Housing, Waste, Social Services, Health, Administration and Police Services)
- Develop and issue consulting assignments for BCAs on Regional facilities (Plants, Depots, Paramedic Services, Child Care, Long-Term Care, Local Housing, Waste), and analyze reports provided
- Act as point of contact for other Regional stakeholders representing the Facilities Asset Management Group - Develop the data requirements for implementation into the Region's enterprise asset management software and on an on-going basis the contents of the database related to vertical assets
- Work with Corporate Asset Management to develop, standardize, implement and maintain the Region's Management Plan and Strategy, providing information regarding Regional facilities
- Work in accordance with the provisions of applicable health and safety legislation and all corporate/departmental and procedures related to occupational health and safety

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- A three-year post-secondary diploma in Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Facility Management or in a related discipline
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Technologist with OACETT or AATO
- About three years of work-related experience working in a Facilities Management Operation with strong knowledge Facilities Asset Management Programs
- Knowledge of Asset Management PSAB6 (Public Sector Accounting Board) and section PS 3150
- TCA (Tangible Capital Assets), CCDC2 (Canadian Construction Documents Committee) Stipulated Price Contract, Ontario and National Fire Code, Ontario and National Building Code, AODA and referenced standards
- Knowledge and experience with Durham Regional Asset Management plans and processes, Purchasing By-law and Procedures, Budget Management Policy, Fire and Safety Security Standards for Regional Departments, Standing Agreement/Acquisition Policy, Design specification for Regional services, Corporate Health and Safety/Works Department Health and Safety and Corporate Services Information Technology (CS-IT) procedures and processes
- Knowledge of all Regional Facilities such as Water and Sewage Plants, Pumping Stations, Depots, Long-Term Care Facilities and Administration Buildings, design specification for Regional services, knowledge of seasonal maintenance policies, contracts, and facilities equipment
- Ability to produce complex technical reports and specifications and proficient at reading and interpreting complex construction drawings, design standards and specifications, manufacturers data, engineering and technical work proposals, contracts, reports, and legal documents
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, Revit, Ameresco
- Asset Planner, Maximo or other asset management software
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and research skills
- Excellent customer service, problem solving, negotiation, and project management skills
- A valid Class 'G' Ontario Driver's License

**CUPE 1764 Salary Grade 6**

This position is with Salary Grade 6 and will be paid at the following hourly rates:
Start: $40.69 - Six Month: $42.95 - Job: $45.21
