The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling of staff at Victoria Village in a manner that is consistent with Victoria Village’s mission, core values, and employee guiding principles while ensuring continuity of resident care and demonstrating customer service excellence. The Staffing Coordinator will also participate in activities related to general human resource functions including recruitment, interviewing, and orientation.

**Synopsis of the Duties and Responsibilities**:
General Administration
- Coordinates all components of scheduling human resources within the nursing department;
- Performs incidental clerical work including typing, filing, delivering messages, sorting mail, photocopying, faxing and ordering office supplies;
- Assists in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Human Resources
- In accordance with the applicable collective agreement and internal policies, maintains staffing schedules including coordination of the replacement staff as required for the monthly and daily scheduling needs;
- Documents staff absences, shifts worked, time off requests and other paperwork related to staffing and follows up with staff as required;
- Participates in the monitoring of employee attendance in accordance with the internal Attendance Action Program;
- Prepares all internal and external job postings;
- Monitors employee completion of on-boarding and annual education;
- Hosts general orientation sessions for new employees;
- Responsible for auditing employee files to ensure all necessary documentation received.

Financial Accountability
- Monitors staff compliance to the time keeping system;
- Acts as payroll back up for the home;
Other
- Maintains personal accountability for completion of monthly audits as assigned.
- Advises supervisor or delegate immediately of all staff incidents that may result in an Occupational Accident Claim;
- Follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and others;
- Wears personal protective equipment as designated;
- Maintains a clean, safe working environment utilizing infection control policies;
- Maintains a sound working knowledge of their roles and responsibilities during all emergency situations.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in office administration or equivalent educational experience preferred
- Payroll experience an asset
- Previous experience in staffing coordination or scheduling role
- Proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and working within a Windows computerized environment. Knowledge of scheduling software, Point Click Care and UKG software an asset.
- Ability to deal with public and long-term care resident population in a calm and professional manner.
- Proficiency in time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $49,792.00-$54,716.00 per year
