**Position Summary**
Lead Venue Technicians will be responsible for overseeing and supervising AV Technicians for the setup, operation, and dismantle of events in a technically correct and efficient manner. Working alongside the Operations and Production Managers, they will assist with the day to day operations and technical support at their assigned venue including assisting with the training of in-house AV systems and managing onsite inventory. They will be responsible for reviewing all event information with the client and/or venue prior to the event, and providing first class service and attitude to all clients, venue teams, and guests. In addition, they will need to assist with the setup, operation, and dismantle of events as required and assist in the testing of equipment after setups and ensuring that client's needs are met.

This position is comprised of an average 40-hour work week with the expectation that hours will be flexible and overtime may occur. This position is based out of our venues in Toronto and is in-person/onsite.

**Job Duties**
- Supervise AV Technicians for the setup, operation, and dismantle of events
- Read and review equipment manifests and event related documents to complete all necessary tasks
- Provide support and training to technicians
- Assist with maintaining a strong system of organization and maintenance of in-house audio-visual equipment
- Responsible for front of the line customer service and interaction with clients, venue partners and other vendors as needed
- Assist with the setup, operation, and dismantle of audio-visual equipment as required
- Ensure that audio-visual equipment is functioning and in good working order
- Troubleshoot equipment errors and software issues as required
- Load and unload audio-visual equipment into event spaces
- Assist with tracking and managing all broken audio-visual equipment and ensure replacements are provided, as needed
- Complete inspection forms and daily reports as required
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Comply with company, industry, and legislative health & safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Inform your assigned manager of any event emergencies, set backs, unresolved issues, and last minute client requests
- Attend meetings as required
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
- Maintain a cooperative and sensitive teamwork attitude when dealing with clients
- Other duties as required by company

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma is required. Post-secondary education in event production, technical production, music production, or equivalent training is preferred.
- 5+ years of audio-visual experience
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience of audio-visual equipment in a live event environment
- Experience managing a team for setups and dismantles
- Proficiency with the use of computer hardware, software, and programs, including the Internet, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Ability to communicate orally and written at a professional working proficiency level or greater in the English language
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- A creative thinker and has the ability to think outside the box
- Experience working in a hotel and/or convention centre environment is an asset
- Experience using Flex Rental Solutions software is an asset
- Working at heights and MEWP certification are an asset
- Work experience using Allen & Heath QU and SQ series digital audio consoles is an asset
- Work experience using Roland XS-1 and V-800 switchers is an asset
- Work experience using Chamsys QuickQ20, Martin M2GO, and GrandMA lighting consoles is an asset
- Work experience with LED walls, conference systems, and rigging is an asset
- Work experience with Crestron and QSYS systems is an asset
- Knowledge of current workplace health & safety regulations, fire & building codes, and AODA regulations in relation to the live entertainment industry is an asset
