**Job Summary**

**Community Financial Counselling Services (CFCS)** is a non-profit United Way Agency that provides financial and credit counselling, budget management, and financial literacy services to Manitobans who are experiencing financial difficulty. CFCS utilizes a Financial Empowerment model in providing financial coaching, financial literacy, tax preparation and access to benefit services to low-income Manitobans.

Working within a strength based, solution-focused model, the incumbent assists the Program Coordinator in delivering Financial Empowerment Interventions to low-income clients residing on Manitoba First Nation communities.

Interventions are community driven and focus on tax preparation, access to benefits, RESPs and identification. The incumbent will assist with outreach, scheduling, promotional strategies, training, program delivery and coordination with First Nations partners. Services are provided to a diverse population with respect to income, age, and culture. The incumbent will have the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with Manitoba First Nation communities, community contacts, partner agencies and work collaboratively within our multi-program environment.

The position will require travel within the city of Winnipeg and nearby rural communities to facilitate tax clinics, training sessions and Financial Empowerment Drop-in Days. Most of the communities involved with the program are situated within 300KMs from Winnipeg.

This is full-time Term position (40 hours/week) with a competitive salary and full benefits.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Recognized training and/or education in social sciences field
- Experience in inter-organizational service delivery, small-scale community event planning and a knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, time management and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of personal financial issues related to money management, income taxes and government financial benefits
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to communicate and work with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Abilities in additional languages is considered an asset.
- Valid Drivers’ Licence and access to a reliable vehicle is a must.
- Tax preparation experience and/or knowledge of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) along with proficiency in Ufile tax preparation software is an asset. Additional training will be provided.
- Ability to speak Ojibwe, Cree or Oji-Cree would be an asset
