**Alumni & Student Communications Coordinator**

The **Alumni & Student Communications Coordinator **reports to the Manager, Student and Alumni Marketing Communications, and is responsible for coordinating, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administrative support for Alumni and student communications. This communication reaches the Alumni audience of over 110,000 Mohawk College graduates, and the current students audience including our full-time and part-time post-secondary students in all programs at each of our campuses.

**Responsibilities**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
**Coordinating, Monitoring and Reporting of Alumni Engagement**
- ** **Coordinate college-specific activities and communication plan(s) with stakeholders as it pertains to the Alumni Communications
- Liaison with Public Relations to support events, marketing, promotion and communication
- Utilizes the Raisers Edge database, online and in-person interactions to analyze and identify alumni audience characteristics, interests, needs and relevance. Determines how to engage and build relationships via the effective use of this information.
- Seeks and recommends cost effective strategies and tactics to increase engagement and convert audiences more efficiently.
- Segments data to target appropriate demographics for personalized strategic messaging.
- Performs testing and uses data to determine optimal direction of marketing efforts.
- Monitors benchmarks to measure the impact of website and social media/digital content and activities. Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of digital channels and provides positive and negative feedback to refine future initiatives and strategies. Reports on ROI on a regular basis.

**Coordinate and Implement Alumni Communications**

**InTouch Magazine**
- ** **Creates concept and content for bi-annual printed Alumni InTouch magazine, including the overall theme for each issue, developing story ideas, writing articles, editing, proofing and fact-checking.
- Prepares, monitors and evaluates detailed critical path/schedule for print production.
- Liaises with, and provides direction and feedback to, Marketing’s creative team to establish look/feel, layout, page flow and direction for cover.
- Communicates and coordinates with internal Mohawk College employees, Alumni contract writers, Mohawk College Foundation and external parties to obtain articles and artwork.
- Coordinates editorial committee for review of magazine.
- Assembles all submissions and submits draft to in-house creative services for layout and design.
- Synchronizes work with partners (layout and design, printer and mail house) to manage final production. Facilitates sign off of final proofs from printer.

**Monthly InTouch eNewsletter**:

- ** **Edits content and compiles information from a variety of sources for e-newsletters, including setting up web forms for information collection
- Coordinates content, production, editing and distribution of e-newsletters.
- Adapts established organizational communications pieces and activities to appeal and be appropriate to the selected audience.

**Other Alumni marketing and communication collateral**:

- ** **Writes research summaries, news releases, ads, backgrounders, fact sheets and other items, as required.
- Coordinates the collection of graduate testimonials and develops opportunities with internal stakeholders to share content as appropriate. This work includes scheduling, release of information processes, securing photography and videography as required.
- Creates alumni collateral, literature and other forms of communication (e.g. brochures, j-signs, posters, etc.).

**Digital Marketing and Social Media**
- ** **Creates, manages and grows Mohawk Alumni and Mohawk current student presence and voice across multiple social media channels including, but not limited, to blogs, websites, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, chat, etc.
