**Position**:Junior Purchaser

**Location**:1 Northrup Crescent, St. Catharine’s, ON L2M 7M3

**Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:

- Generate daily and weekly raw material estimates based on production schedule
- Record daily consumption and receipt of raw material into corresponding records and logs
- Validate each shipment document’s accuracy, completeness and compliance based on daily incoming shipments
- Organize, digitalize, and file documents as needed
- Place purchase orders with vendors.
- Follow up with purchase orders status from vendor
- Manage purchase order delivery method if required
- Order office supplies as needed
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in records by communicating and collaborating with various departments
- Liaise with warehouse and production team on accuracy of records
- Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments
- Communicate and follow up with suppliers on complaints and issues
- Adhere to all SQF guidelines regarding purchasing and related processes
- Provide backup and support for other office functions
- Generate daily and weekly raw material estimates based on production schedule

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and troubleshoot
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self-sufficient and naturally proactive
- Ability to adapt, multi-task, and prioritize projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point), experience in Business Vision, SmartBorder, and any ERP systems is a bonus
- Willingness to go beyond expectations, learn new skills and take on new challenges & responsibilities

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Business, Science, Supply Chain or related program preferred
- Experience working in purchasing, and/or administration, and/or food industry is preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing is an asset

**Work Environment**:

- Would be required to work on site
- Regular hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (overtime as required)
- Our offices are located on site within the same building of our spice blending production, this creates a distinct aroma due to the spices we handle, and the air quality can be challenging at times
- Would need to adhere to health and safety requirements and regulations
- Long period of concentration is required; the position involves managing many high-priority issues at once, and frequent interruptions may occur

Pay: $20.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
