Electrical Engineering Design Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Moncton office, where you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small commercial developments to large healthcare, defense, and private sector facilities.
Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead project tasks and activities in our Moncton office. As an ideal candidate, you will possess strong leadership skills, with proven ability to lead project tasks and activities, be comfortable in a client-facing position, and have intermediate or strong project management skills.
Responsibilities- Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all electrical engineered systems or products for a project and assure work is reviewed for overall technical accuracy.
- Collaborate in person or remotely with team members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success, acting as a project team member or a project leader.
- Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of building's electrical systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various electrical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
- Assist upper level staff with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
- Perform and oversee the development of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
- Conduct field reviews of projects during construction to verify conformance with construction documents and provide letters of professional assurance to the applicable authorities having jurisdiction.
- An Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
- Experience in Revit and AutoCAD would be an asset.
- Experience in the industrial/commercial/institutional electrical design industry including:
- Electrical distribution design (service design, feeder calculations, over-current protection, load analysis).
- Life Safety (fire alarm systems, exit and emergency lighting).
- Lighting (indoor and outdoor).
