- Big Brothers Big Sisters South Bruce North Huron (BBBSSBNH) is seeking an energetic, part-time Mentoring Coordinator to join our team. We are a non-profit charity, providing mentorship services to children and youth, in communities across South Bruce North Huron. **Details of Position**:
The Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for administering and overseeing all community based, and one-to-one mentorship programs. In accordance with program needs, the Mentoring Coordinator facilitates mentor and volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and monitoring. The Mentoring Coordinator facilitates several group programs and works with various youth-serving agencies to offer children and youth meaningful, integrated, mentorship-based programs and services. The incumbent provides case management in accordance with the Agency and National Standards set out by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and works with the guidelines, policies and mission of the agency.
**Responsibilities/Duties**:
**Mentoring**
- Recruit new volunteers, partners, youth and families
- Orientate, interview, screen and train prospective volunteers for all programs and services in accordance with national and local standards
- Deliver, develop, monitor and evaluate, community-based and group programs provided by the organization under the supervision of the Executive Director
- Lead planning and direction of staff-run programs, community booths, and outreach events
- Attend regular collaboration meetings (internally and externally) to strengthen programs and practices
- Complete appropriate case notes, statistical tracking and file maintenance for all programs in accordance with national and local standards
**Related Duties**:
- Perform administrative functions as required to manage caseload as per local and National Standards
- Assist with the planning and/or implementation of annual agency fundraising events
- Attend meetings as directed by the Executive Director
- Assist with marketing initiatives, promotion of programs and services
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
**Qualifications**:
- BSW or relevant degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to youth and family services
- Excellent organizational and communication skills/strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible, approachable and professional
- Holds a strong understanding of, and commitment to, client-centered approaches and trauma informed practices
- Strong reflective listener and passion for working with youth and families
- Strong computer skills, with ability to draft reports, maintain statistical data and work in accordance with agency and National Standards of practice
- The ability to provide a clear Police Record Check
- A valid Ontario Driver’s license in good standing, access to a reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
