Why is this role important?
- Reporting to the Director, Western Canada and Local Analytics, the Manager of Local Analytics and Support provides vision and leadership for analytics and support efforts aligned with the strategic and operational agendas of core plan stakeholder (health authorities and Ministries of Health) throughout Canada.
- Recognizing that core plan stakeholder organizations have varying analytic capacities and needs, the Manager prioritizes meaningful programs of work (series of informal analytic products in critical strategic areas) that deliberately target specific client needs such as Rural Health. The Manager will work in consultation with clients, Client Affairs Managers and CIHI Programs to prioritize, design and implement appropriate analytic and support activities that respond to client needs.
- What you'll do
- 1. Lead and motivate the team; provide clear direction; effectively delegate and monitor performance results; motivate and develop others to go above and beyond; support others through change; make decisions that balance the best interests of the team, the organization and its stakeholders; and lead by example by living CIHI’s core values.
- 2. Work in consultation with clients, CIHI Client Affairs Managers and Programs to prioritize meaningful “programs of work” that align with areas of strategic and operational priorities of the complex health system environment in the West. The Manager will pay attention to varying client needs and deliberately target initiatives to address specific client needs, such as Rural Health.- 4. Work directly with stakeholders on the delivery of information products that address their immediate interests by responding to requests for analytical information and support with the uptake and use of CIHI’s full array of products and services.
- 5. Work with CIHI program areas on joint analytic projects to ensure consistent approaches to analysis and product quality. Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of CIHI’s data holdings, related data held by other organizations and stakeholder information needs. Looks for synergies between CIHI projects and within and across provinces/regions and leverages opportunities for collaborative analysis and research.
- 6. Provide leadership in the development of the strategic focus and overall management function of the department in accordance with the Vision, Mandate and Values of CIHI. Provides coaching, guiding, mentoring and modelling collaborative behaviour to the Local Analytics and Support team.
- 7. Demonstrate strong analytic skills and participates in the development of analytical deliverables. Recruits staff and ensures the team stays current in skills and technologies.
- 8. Provide oversight to staff members tracking progress of project milestones, identifying risks, determining resource requirements and preparing status reports. Ensures background research, feasibility assessments and other related activities are completed.
- 9. Responsible for ensuring methodological, technological, data quality and privacy-related issues are identified and addressed appropriately in the planning, development and execution of research and analytic projects. Seek advice and guidance from internal experts to resolve issues.
- 10. Responsible for the content of all reports and information products produced by the team. Ensures that reports, analysis and related products are of high quality.
