Safety Coordinator

Rob Smith & Son Backhoe & Trucking Ltd. is COR certified company engaged in the construction industry in Manitoba. The base of operations is located in rural Manitoba just north of Neepawa, MB.

Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

- Answer telephone and direct calls
- Filing
- Maintain training records
- Maintain Health and Safety Manual
- Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and first aid kits on all jobsites and maintain records
- Monthly inspection of office, yard and shop for Safety and Health Program
- Attend jobsites when necessary to complete Health and Safety electronic documentation
- Maintain Sitedocs Health and Safety Program
- Review Sitedocs daily and record relevant information
- Occasionally drive to Neepawa, Brandon or Winnipeg for parts or supplies with company vehicle
- Other duties as assigned

The successful applicant should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Energetic, self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Experience with Sitedocs and Motive would be an asset but would train
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- The ability to safely mount and dismount large equipment in order to check fire extinguishers
- Will be required to take WHMIS training among other courses as required
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment as the need requires
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset
- COR Health and Safety training is an asset but can be trained
- Ability to multi task and take direction from others
