Roles and Responsibilities

As an Accounting Assistant, you’ll work with our Controller and VP of Finance on all kinds of financial

documents and tasks. You’ll help them prep statements, file government returns, ensure everyone gets

paid, and generally keep the company’s money flow smooth and efficient. You’ll also work with a wide

variety of clients that include small startups, not-for-profits, and recognized national and international

organizations and brands that span many industries.

Essentially, you will
- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all companies.
- Prepare payments through multiple channels (Telpay, CHQ, EFT, and credit card).
- Reconcile certain general ledger accounts (Fixed Asset, Misc AR).
- Review and prepare government tax remittance for PST, GST, etc.
- Review vendor invoice entries for accuracy.
- Assist with A/R collection and A/R & A/P management.
- Help prepare multiple variance analyses.
- Support monthly and year-end financial statements preparation.
- Take a popcorn break when your head is drowning in numbers.
- Help update policies and procedures and improve financial documents.
- Produce assigned reports and information as required for the Controller and/or the VP of Finance.

**Requirements**:

- A diploma/degree in Commerce/Business with a major in Accounting and Finance.
- A minimum of 3 years progressive accounting experience in an environment that involves multiple projects.
- Practical training or experience in ERP (i.e., Microsoft Dynamic NAV).
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
