The position provides administrative support to a new physician building his practice. The Administrative assistant will be responsible for the clinical and administrative services associated with the operation of the physician practice.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:_
- Managing and maintaining physician schedule
- Coordinating appointments with other departments and clinics
- Coordinating activities with external sites involved in the physician practice
- Transcription of letters and medical notes
- Electronic filing and chart organization
- Managing all patient bookings; inquiries and scheduling appropriate tests; and running in-person clinics
- Coordination of OHIP billing
- Supporting physicians in their academic and research roles

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical administrative assistant role. Hospital experience is preferred
- Proven knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to use Accuro EMR is required
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and good team player skills
- Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple work demands, including time sensitive requests
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals
- Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic

**EDUCATION**:
College Diploma in a related discipline, or recognized equivalent, or a combination of education and experience if required..
