**Compensation**:$95,828 to $119,786 per annum (depending on experience)

Servus is growing We are currently looking for an **Accounting Tax Manager** for our **Accounting Department.**

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Accounting Tax Manager is accountable for all accounting responsibilities assigned and should have a good understanding of all relevant aspects of operations. This position has a high focus on income and excise tax and is accountable for the calculation of monthly tax accruals and quarterly provisions for all companies, deferred tax calculations, GST filings on all companies, contact for CRA, Stats Canada reporting, research on questions around tax, as well as regular accounting entries, reconciliations, documentation and other items as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Work with staff to ensure that all timelines are met, working papers are properly prepared, complete and supported for external quarterly and annual audits.
- Responsible for all income and excise tax filings and communication with external audit on these topics.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the Income Tax Act and working knowledge of Excise Tax Act and IFRS, ensure standards are being appropriately applied.
- Research advanced tax and/or accounting issues and transactions. This could include writing memos or position papers.
- Review and maintain policy documents and update Accounting Policies under your purview and create new policies when required.
- Create an engaged environment for people to excel. Provide timely and appropriate feedback. Maintain corporate standards pertaining to performance plans and reviews.

**Experience**:

- This position requires between 2 - 5 years post designation accounting experience, including verified experience filing Corporate tax returns and GST returns

**Education and Training**:

- A CPA designation is preferred - should be registered with CPA Alberta
- Accounting Degree (B. Comm or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of IFRS and Excise Tax
- Excellent knowledge of the Income Tax Act, Corporate Tax and GST returns
- Experience in preparing financial statements note disclosure in accordance with the CICA Handbook & IFRS.
