In your role as an Advocacy and Member Engagement Worker you will engage with the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area Society’s membership to ensure our landlords and downtown businesses are fully aware of all DDBIA programs and events, to increase engagement of all our offerings and to better understand the DDBIA’s businesses unique challenges like their safety and security concerns. This is a physically active role and one in which you will engage frequently with our membership in their stores, at events, and in scheduled meetings.

As a member of the DDBIA team you will assist in the development of effective solutions and communication processes to track and report vandalism, security and membership complaints and proactively advocate on membership needs and concerns with relevant stakeholders.

**Qualifications**
- You must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age (Canada Summer Jobs requirement).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Proven report writing skills.
- Proven work ethic.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Positive professional attitude.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to problem solve and self-motivate.
- Progressive and inclusive attitude and behaviours.
- Ability to climb stairs, walk around downtown frequently for pickups and deliveries and lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Some post-secondary education in administration, business or humanities is preferred.

**Details**
- 35 hours per week (Monday through Friday).
- Start time 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (times are firm).
- $22.65
- Paid parking.
