Plant Manager

Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a manufacturing plant from coordination to overall production. Duties include managing day-to-day operations, maintaining plant equipment, and developing strategies to create optimal plant performance. Responsible for ~30 employees, working on a rotating 2/3 shift pattern, 5 days a week.
Main Duties and Responsibilities **(This list is not exhaustive and employees are expected to carry out other duties that may reasonably be required)**
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Delivering against the production plan to meet customer demand and OTIF performance.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
- Targeted costs reduction against budget
- Targeted increases in production efficiencies
- Upholding BRC hygiene standards
- Managing and reporting productivity, labour and cost rates.
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Production cost control
- Working closely with HR to identify gaps in skill level within the production personnel, identifying succession.
- Maintaining the highest standards of health & safety
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Managing ongoing continuous improvement (CI) programs
- Prepare management reports.
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
**Qualifications/ Experience**
**Essential**
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience within a supervisory or management position
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing - related activities
- Experienced in lean manufacturing & continuous improvement
- Experienced in reporting key production metrics
- Knowledge of Health and Safety standards and compliance
Knowledge of press machines and tools
**Desirable**
- FMCG environment
Degree or equivalent in Management Engineering, Industrial Technology
**Skills Required**:
- Excellent management skills, with the ability to mentor and coach
- Highly organised
- Experienced in change management
- Computer literate, in all Microsoft packages including MS 365
- Critical thinker and problem solver
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
