**Position Description**

**Hours of Work**:37.5 hours per week

**Location**:Hamilton, ON
- Works with YWCA Hamilton leadership across departments to set clear objectives and goals, research and define audiences, develop marketing strategies and plans, implements plans, and evaluate/track success;
- Adjusts and revises marketing strategies across departments and campaigns as required to fulfill program mandates and budgets;
- Leads a team of three communications staff to implement organizational marketing strategies including but not limited to: creative concepts and design, SEO, print, web, social media, Google AdWords, print and digital media/marketing, etc.
- Responsible for copy writing where and when required, and works collaboratively with YWCA Hamilton department areas to effectively communicate YWCA programs and services on ywcahamilton.org and related to micro and/or campaign websites while abiding by national/local branding requirements;
- Advises and supports communications team to develop marketing materials for programs, services and development efforts, providing a critical eye for editing and communications which are punchy, brief and persuasive;
- Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships to advance YWCA’s philanthropic strategies;
- Develops, implements and evaluates marketing strategies for YWCA Hamilton’s annual signature events including Women of Distinction Awards, Walk a Mile in Their Shoes, Rise and Shine Young Trailblazers Breakfast and annual/capital campaign strategies where relevant;
- Provides leadership in achieving new marketing and communications opportunities through grant or in-kind opportunities;
- Coordinates all elements of YWCA Hamilton’s online store via Shopify to curate relevant store items, manage inventory and track sales;
- Works to strengthen and develop YWCA Hamilton staff capacity to adhere to YWCA brand identity guidelines and develops and implements tools and systems for staff to become YWCA brand ambassadors;
- Works with the Communications team and Director, Philanthropy and Communications to manage, code and submit marketing and other related invoices and attribute to program areas in alignment with YWCA Hamilton finance and administration policies;
- Develops and implements appropriate systems to ensure monitoring of projects and initiatives in compliance with work schedules and outcomes;
- Maintains appropriate recordkeeping and expense reporting in accordance with YWCA policies and procedures, and confidentiality/privacy policies;
- Provides analytic reports and updates to Director, Philanthropy and Communications as required;
- Identifies and evaluates risks and takes appropriate action to control the risks;
- Maintains high level of confidentiality when working with employee and stakeholder information;
- Manages and monitors department marketing budgets and works with program leadership and finance team to implement all marketing spend plans;
- Directly manages and coaches employees including recruiting, training and evaluating performance;
- Fosters a safe and healthy work environment; ensures employees comply with health & safety standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements;
- Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
- Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
- Performs other duties as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Works a standard 37.50-hour work week;
- Occasional evenings and weekends and travel may be required

**Qualifications**
- Equivalent to the completion of 3 year degree in business, social services, public relations, communications or marketing;
- Minimum 3 years working in the non-profit sector with communications experience;
- Minimum of 2 years management experience with demonstrated leadership skills;
- Experience in MailChimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics and WordPress is asset;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media, SEO, and writing for various audiences;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to bring a feminist, anti-racist / anti-oppressive perspective to day to day work and strategic planning;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
