Reporting to the designated Service Director, the Resource Supervisor Placement Support, is an expert in the delivery of child welfare services with a focus on placement stability, continuity of care, permanence, and child and youth well-being. The Supervisor will lead the development and maintenance of licensed out of home residential care settings for children and youth requiring intensive therapeutic support.
The Supervisor, has a thorough knowledge and understanding of evidence informed practice, legislative requirements, licensing requirements and agency standards. The Supervisor has expertise in the areas of child development, grief and loss, attachment, and family dynamics and is able to utilize this expertise to ensure the best possible placement for children and youth requiring such intervention. A critical thinker and continuous learner, this position is able to link the needs of children and youth with the strengths and resources of potentional care providers.
The Supervisor possesses the ability to act and successfully manage difficult situations/trauma including crisis de-escalation with high acuity children and youth and supporting individuals to stabilize. The position demonstrates leadership behaviours and actions consistent with CASLM. This Supervisor is accountable for ensuring all services in this portfolio are carried out in a child and family-centred manner within an anti-oppressive framework and will align all activities and interactions with the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex (CASLM) commitments to children, youth, and families.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successful completion of a Child and Youth Worker/Care Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years child welfare experience and/or 5 years children’s mental health treatment experience
- Management experience preferred
- Experience providing leadership in licensed residential care settings
- Proven knowledge, skills, and strategies specific to evidence informed practice in the areas of child development, grief and loss, trauma, attachment, and family dynamics
- Strong assessment skills and an ability to link the needs of children and youth with the strengths and resources of potential care providers
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across the agency, within the child welfare sector, and with community partners and vendors
- Ability to coach and support learning opportunities across the agency.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Ability to understand, manage and take the lead with extremely contentious and complex cases.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and complexity
- Ability to effectively and efficiently allocate staffing and financial resources including oversight of relevant budget lines
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop service delivery processes that support and continually evaluate success as measured by the key performance indicators
- Strong written skills and proven ability to synthesize information with a focus on relevant and pertinent details
- Superior computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
- Strong bias for action, ability to work independently
It is expected that this position be flexible in terms of hours of work to ensure service excellence and adherence to Ministry standards. Some evening and weekend work possible.
Pay: $69,824.00-$89,115.00 per year
