Patient Assistant

*Position Summary:
- Coordinate patient care through the clinic -checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms and preparing patients for their exams
- Ensure patient confidentiality & follow clinic policies and procedures
- Answer inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner
- Operate fax machine
- Maintain appointment schedules and confirmation calls
- Maintain the patient chart through the use of an electronic medical record
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately
- Processing of laboratory samples and ensuring accuracy
- Cleans and sterilize exam rooms and instruments according to office policies
**Skills**:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong computer skills, previous EMR experience ideal, preferably with Accuro
- Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new programs and policies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver excellent quality results
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Present a cheerful, friendly and professional image to patients, coworkers and physicians
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with mínimal supervision
- MOA certification as asset
**Salary**: starting $17 (salary negotiable with medical office experience/certification).
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 37.5 per week
