**About Us**:
The Ministry of Culture works to improve Albertans’ quality of life through support of cultural development, historical preservation and increased gender equality. The Royal Alberta Museum collects, preserves, researches, interprets, and exhibits objects and specimens related to the heritage of Alberta’s people and natural environment. In collaboration with other branches within Heritage Division, the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) Branch is responsible for designing and producing galleries, exhibits, and interpretive features for 18 of the division's museums (including RAM), historic sites and interpretive centers located throughout Alberta. The RAM Branch's Visitor Experience Unit is instrumental in leading this work.

**Role**:
As the Project Coordinator you will lead the project management aspects of the Royal Alberta Museum’s exhibits-related work. You will coordinate, monitor and report on exhibit design, production and maintenance projects led by the branch, both for the Royal Alberta Museum and the facilities/sites operated by other branches in the division. As a skilled project management professional, you are responsible for developing project plans for museum exhibitions (e.g. temporary, traveling, and permanent exhibits), exhibit maintenance projects, and other aspects of the team’s project-based work. You will help identify and resolve obstacles to the successful completion of projects.

You will report to the Director of Visitor Experience, and will play a key role in ensuring that our team’s project-related work is properly resourced and milestones are achieved.

**Key responsibilities of this project management role include, but are not limited to**:

- Scoping and developing project plans that fulfill the branch’s goals and objectives.
- Facilitating the efficient, timely, and cost-effective execution of approved project plans.
- Supporting the Manager of Design, Production and Operations in the efficient and cost effective execution of work.
- Developing project-related documents (e.g. project charters, stakeholder registers, schedules, etc.) needed to ensure stakeholders understand their role, and to provide key information needed to guide decision making.
- Maintaining records on current projects and providing regular updates to the Manager of Design, Production and Operations and the team’s projects; providing information and analysis to inform branch and divisional decision making.
- Evaluating completed projects with the aim of refining processes and improving future outcomes.

**Qualifications**:
University degree in a related field (Museum Studies, Arts, Business Administration, or related), plus a minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible related experience. Equivalencies of related experience or education may be considered on a one-for-one basis.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in project planning and coordination, including experience in project scoping, budget and timeline development, and critical path development
- Proven track record in conceiving, managing and delivering projects involving complex schedules and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills in standard MS Office products, and with project management software.

**Assets**:

- Project management certification.
- Experience with museum operations and/or project management in a museum or science center-related environment.

$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly. ($67,548 - $88,681 per year)
