**OVERVIEW**:
We are seeking a youth to join our team for a limited time project to positively impact the services that we provide in our shelter during extreme weather events. This would be a hybrid role that includes both client-facing duties but also administrative program support.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
This role would work with program managers to understand, document and formalize our program adaptation strategies to ensure we are meeting the needs of residents and service users in instances of extreme weather caused by climate change. In addition to this documentation work, this role would also be responsible for executing elements of those strategies, particularly during extreme heat periods. This would include client engagement outdoors.

**SKILLS**:

- Experience working with, and knowledge of, resources concerning homeless populations, addictions, mental health, housing, and poverty issues.
- Customer service-oriented mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must by at least 18 years of age
- Able to read text and communicate orally in English. Ability to communicate in other languages is considered an asset.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $25.39 per hour
