Assistant Parts Manager

We are looking to hire for an **Assistant Parts Manager **for one of our clients,** located in the Kitchener/Waterloo area**. The Assistant Parts Manager is responsible to assist the Group Parts Manager maximize profits through efficient use of processes, space, equipment and inventory control while remaining within established budgetary guidelines. Help to grow and maintain the wholesale aspect of the Parts department.
**Major Duties**:
- Assists in the nature and extent of the dealership’s parts and accessories marketing.
- Adheres to monthly parts and accessories sales objectives by assisting in promotion and point of sale aids. Ensuring that they are constantly reviewing and understanding parts price changes, availability, and frequency of demand.
- Fills Parts requests for ROS and perform purchases and stock orders.
- Fields all customer requests for Parts
- Contacts SPO Parts Customers to bring them back in
- Monitors and controls forecasting of inventory requirements and ordering new stock and/or assigning new parts numbers when necessary. Controls obsolete inventory to gain factory rebates.
- Fill in for Assistant Service Manager during breaks lunches and days off
- Monitors reports on obsolescence, inventory trends, zero balance guide, special order parts, and weekly sales while also monitoring and controlling forecasting of inventory requirements.
- Participates in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and adhere to parts department policies and procedures for inventory control and pricing. Ensures all health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with WHMIS and company are strictly adhered to.
- Obtains approval of all requisitions for material and expenses not resold on the repair order or sales orders.
- Involved in the maintenance of parts department facilities and equipment and general cleanliness of the entire department
- Identifies new areas for growth development for maximization of efficient workflow and expense controls.
- Participates in and must be present for all physical inventories and departmental meetings
- Monitors effective dispatch system with couriers and parts drivers to ensure that verified deliveries are completed daily and followed up on payment.
- Handles the ordering and processing of buying group inventories and secondary suppliers and completing weekly stock orders from Manufacturers.
- Co-ordinates campaign recall or special-order parts with Service Advisors thru Service Management by working in harmonious cooperation with service and sales departments.
**Job Requirements**:
- Knowledge, understanding, and applies the dealership selling service system.(CDK, PBS, and MFG).
- Knowledge of manufacturers’ parts policies and procedures, competitive activity, accounting and computerized inventory systems.
- Experience working in an automotive parts department.
- Dealership experience.
- Management experience is considered an asset.
