**Position Overview**:
The Dedicated Locator Coordinator (DLC) liaises with excavators, members, and dedicated locators to ensure that projects utilizing the dedicated locator model adheres per requirements under the Section 7 of the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, 2012. The DLC’s focus is on the creation and execution of processes designed within the parameters required to allow for safe excavation on dedicated locator projects.

Working with a small team of energetic staff, in a supportive and enthusiastic environment, the DLC demonstrates a willingness towards continual learning and development, creative problem solving, flexibility and the ability to develop long-lasting and positive working relationships.

This position reports to the Dedicated Locator Supervisor and is located at our head office at 104 Cooper Drive in Guelph, Ontario.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- With 3-6 months lead-time, the DLC will receive excavation project information and will communicate it with affected members and dedicated locators for planning purposes.
- Coordinate with excavators and stakeholders regarding proper use of Contractor ID’s and request entry processes.
- Ensure dedicated locators and members are receiving requests and entering the completion of locates in 360 Feedback.
- Engage with excavators, members and LSP’s regarding timelines and requirements to ensure the project locates are completed as required by Ontario One Call.
- Liaise with internal staff and external stakeholders as necessary to ensure potential difficulties are resolved in an efficient and professional manner.
- Schedule stakeholder meetings, document and generate reports.
- Provide regular communication updates and activity reporting to the Dedicated Locator Project Lead.
- Additional duties as may be required.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of GIS, construction, utilities, safety and the regulatory environment in Ontario for worker safety is an asset
- Highly organized with the ability to accommodate rapid change.
- Demonstrates ability to manage projects.
- Energetic and enthusiastic, with a mature attitude. - Ability to work independently and also harmoniously within a small, collaborative team.
- The ability to work under pressure to accommodate workflow variation and still retain a positive mindset.
- Able to travel within Ontario by vehicle and plane, as required.

**Education/Experience**:

- Knowledge in utility locate coordination is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business, administration, or other relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (preferably in the excavation/construction industry)
- 1+ year experience working within Ontario One Call is a strong asset
- PLAC certification is a strong asset
