**Asset Management Coordinator**:

The Township of Springwater, located in Simcoe County, Ontario, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Asset Management Coordinator.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Capital Infrastructure Delivery, the Asset Management Coordinator will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders in leading the development and ongoing maintenance of the Township’s corporate asset management program. This position will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring accuracy of the centralized asset register and all data that relates to the Township’s infrastructure. It will also find efficiencies and improvements in existing asset management systems and processes to optimize the Township’s infrastructure and investment priorities. The Asset Management Coordinator will provide data analytics and reporting for all Township departments and will support Finance with the long-term financial plan for the municipality

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensures the Township becomes and remains compliant with regulatory asset management requirements.
- Leads the develop and ongoing maintenance of the Township’s corporate asset management program.
- Determines/prepares and recommends the annual funding requirements for state of good repairs and asset renewals.
- Prepares and maintains a comprehensive inventory of all Township’s assets that meets the municipality’s tangible capital asset definitions.
- Collaborates with the GIS Coordinator in the input of all asset categories and infrastructure into the GIS database, then reviews same for completeness and accuracy.
- Implements, maintains and keeps current a consolidated and integrated asset data management system and its associated assessment tools.
- Establishes and recommends policies, procedures, processes and schedules for updating, maintaining and the management of the asset management program.
- Conducts infrastructure inspections to research, gather, organize, compile, and maintain data on municipal infrastructure assets. Reviews inventory of all assets, identify data gaps and prioritize work to fill data gaps, as required.
- Inspects and records condition of capital assets. Develops and maintains asset condition and replacement index for individual assets based on the information, inspections and maintenance repair history for rehabilitation/replacement needs for all assets.
- Collaborates with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) on water and wastewater facility infrastructure upgrades for inclusion in the annual capital budget and long range capital forecast.
- Liaises with financial services and other stakeholders to attain full understanding of the existing and future assets inventory, value, compliance, accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Develops, coordinates, communicates and participates in the education and training of staff, council and other stakeholders as related to the asset management program.
- Track and monitor municipal asset management best practices; monitors and recommends improvements to Township’s asset management plan and software; provide advice and guidance to other service areas to improve their tracking practices.
- Responsible for the preparation, review and administration of tenders, RFPs, technical specifications, contract documents, etc. related to asset management initiatives and contracts.
- Manages the asset management and work order software programs, including training, updating and system maintenance.
- Responds to enquiries and complaints from the public; conducts thorough investigations and maintains good records of all incidents; prepares reports and communicates in a tactful, respectful and timely manner.
- Prepares reports/makes recommendations and attends Council, Committees of Council, community groups, public and/or other meetings, as required.
- Builds relationships and maintains a network among all levels of government and agencies; and other municipalities to ensure regulatory compliance, collaboration and general knowledge of trends.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Successful completion of a 3-year college program (engineering technology program or equivalent) with a specialization in asset management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of progressive asset management experience including experience leading consultant assignments.
- An understanding of the principals of asset management including relevant legislation.
- Strong organization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate.
