Summary: Within the context of a resident, patient, client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the position promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.

Reporting to the Director, Allied Health Education and Organizational Strategy, this key role provides operational leadership and support to OT/PT/SLP/RD/SW team members in the provision of quality care to patients/residents and their families along with the supervision of staff within the designated program. This position maintains responsibility in collaboration with the Professional Practice Leaders (PPLs) and Site Leaders for the effective and efficient delivery of allied health services. This role promotes and facilitates the continuum of care delivery both internally and with external agencies in alignment with the organization goals and strategic direction by implementing and using project management, quality improvement, utilization management, staff development and resource management strategies. This position works collaboratively within the Program Based Care Model and in concert with the Program Leaders, other Managers, Practice Leaders, Corporate and Support Leaders.

Qualifications / Skills and Education: The following qualifications and competencies are required to successfully provide the leadership necessary to fulfill the Mission and Values of Providence Health Care.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in a related Health Profession plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience at the management level in a medium to large health care organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provides operational leadership to allied health teams to ensure patient/resident/family centered care is delivered within a coordinated and integrated care delivery model. Supervises staff within the designated program.

2. Collaborates with the PPLs to plan and manage the provision of effective and efficient care within assigned sub-units to support the achievement of operational and strategic objectives of the clinical program and consistent with the mission, vision and values of PHC.

4. Works with community and/or internal partners as appropriate to ensure the provision of timely care to meet the needs of patients/residents/families. In collaboration with PPL and site leaders assists team to manage risks, incidents, family/client complaints and discharge planning.

5. Ensures effective, two-way communications with and among team members so that each team is aware of and understands changes impacting them, the
