With a full-circle approach, Action Electrical has been the electrical contractor of choice in Edmonton, Alberta since 1973. No project is too big; no problem is too complex. Action Electrical consists of four (4) main divisions - Project Division (Design Build/Bid), Electrical Service Division, Energy (Solar/EV) Division, and the Testing Division (Energized testing, infrared, ultrasonic, arc flash).

Action Electrical Ltd has recently acquired Big Hill Electrical Services Ltd., a family owned and operated business since 1999 in Cochrane, Alberta. We have been looking to expand our services throughout southern Alberta. However, it was imperative that, if through acquisition, it would have to be with a company that shared similar values to our company. Through the acquisition process, we have found that Big Hill Electrical operates by their mission of Quality, Integrity, and Dedication.

**Responsibilities**
- Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements and provide accurate estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather information for estimating purposes.
- Research and evaluate vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project changes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Communication: Communicate with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing and build relationships.
- Review takeoffs from estimators and check for conformity to specs and drawings.
- Conduct internal estimate reviews
- Maintain department confidentiality.
- Follow-up on bid results and maintain estimate tracking log.
- Analyze estimates vs. completed projects.
- Assists with other job responsibilities as required.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry, preferably with an electrical contractor.
- Deep understanding of electrical codes and regulations
- Proficiency in using specialized estimation software and tools such as, Accubid & LiveCount
- Ability to create accurate cost estimates, take-offs, and proposals efficiently with mínimal errors.
- Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines, this is critical to the position.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential to interact with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other team members. Be able to explain your estimates and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Aware of current market trends/conditions, including fluctuations in material costs and labor rates, to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
- Being able to find creative solutions to unexpected challenges and adapt accordingly.
- Strong ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial in the fast-paced construction industry.
