SLCS is currently seeking a full-time Justice Worker for the Attendance Centre Program.

The Attendance Centre engages youth in programming and integration into the community as well as providing support to high-risk referrals from youth court. As a member of this team, you will be conducting interactive programming and facilitating to youths in a group setting. Program facilitation varies each day and focuses on topics such as assisting with emotional regulation, goal setting, healthy relationships, anger management, personal/emotional wellness, life skills, social skills, moral reasoning, employment and recreation/leisure. The team works directly with our youths, cooking meals, supporting our night school and summer school programs, providing effective supports including crisis interventions and community service referrals while ensuring the success of the program.

In addition to the elements listed, you will work collaboratively within the team, with other service providers and community partners as we make a difference in the youth’s lives. It is pivotal that a Justice Worker liaise within a multidisciplinary team to provide a wraparound approach to address criminogenic risk factors and assist clients in overcoming barriers. In addition, you would also provide consultative support to youth and their families or caregivers. Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice System, court system and service navigation within the sector is extremely beneficial. Extensive knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, Restorative Practices, Intergenerational Trauma, Strengths Based, Behaviour Management and Risk Management are inherent to the position.

As a Justice Worker in the ACP, you will be skilled at working with youth from diverse populations, and have the ability to be flexible and problem solve your way out of situations. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, being adept at working independently as well as within a team, good time management and organizational skills as well as ability to work with youth in a case management role. Case management requires strong advocacy skills and ensuring we use effective written and verbal communication techniques to engage with and support our clients. Inclusive of case management, this would include various administrative tasks, with coinciding deadlines, including daily case note writing, statistics tracking and case management plan report writing. The report writing focuses on the youth’s risks, needs, responsivity and SMART goal setting.

The hours of this position would be on a set 4 week rotation, working Monday - Friday and then Tuesday - Saturday, between the hours of 10am - 8:30pm Monday - Friday and 8:30am - 4:30pm every other saturday.

You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located primarily at 405 Dundas St.; however, the incumbent will be expected to travel within the community on a regular basis.

**Required Qualifications**:

- University degree or 2 - 3-year College diploma from an accredited institution
- Standard First Aid + CPR - Level C
- Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)
- Safe Food Handling Certificate (preferred)
- Valid G class Driver’s License
