A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Manager, the Financial Assistant will provide financial and project support to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Job duties/tasks will include reviewing, preparing and processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, research accounting and recommendations of areas of opportunity for process efficiencies, enhanced reporting, and strengthened internal controls in the department's day to day operations. the Financial Assistant will perform other duties as assigned in the departmental financial operations."
**Job Description**:
" What you will do

Performs accounting duties to support department activities.

Performs fund allocation to the appropriate budget line items/chartfield.

Prepares and processes various contracts and payroll requests.

Generates accounting reports to support the operations.
Provides guidance on faculty members, students, and other support staff on the expense reimbursement process.

Performs clerical duties, including preparing correspondence and distribution of departmental mail.

Assists with budget preparation activities and generates financial summaries and reports.

Coordinates the purchase of supplies and equipment for the department and researchers.

Ensures that the purchase of moveable assets are recorded in the appropriate accounts.

Maintains a list of all departmental moveable assets greater than $10,000.

Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit. Required Education
Two-Year Community College Diploma. Required Experience
More than 1 year and up to and including 2 years of experience. Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
