**Practice Manager - Signal Hill Animal Clinic**

Signal Hill is a veterinary facility that provides top quality care to cats and dogs. We have maintained a high standard of excellence since opening in 1990. We are always open to new clients who have just welcomed a new pet in their home. We provide a wide range of services that greatly improve your pet's quality of life. We specialize in caring for your cherished companions from their puppy and kitten stage to their golden years. Our clinic offers preventative care through vaccinations, parasite control, dental care, etc., as well as diagnosis and treatment in the form of medication, surgery, or even rehabilitation. We are equipped with modern equipment such as digital radiology and a surgical suite comparable to those in human hospitals.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Some responsibilities include:

- Oversee smooth and efficient operations of the clinics
- Recruit train and motivate staff
- Handle human resource issues when they arise and escalate to the Operations Director when needed
- Work with the Operations Director to create and execute the vision for the clinics
- Help grow the clinics in both revenue and new clientele
- Create action plans for the clinic and staff to maximize success
- Prepare regular reports on a weekly basis

AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:

- An abiding love of animals and a deep understanding of the human/animal bond
- Previous experience as a manager, preferably in the veterinary, retail, or healthcare industry is an asset
- Experience with shifts, and drafting/managing schedules
- Good management and leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, delegate, motivate and develop the hospital and team to become top performers in the community
- You must be a client service professional, who puts the client first at all times and an experienced people manager, who has hired, trained and held people accountable for their performance
- Developed emotional intelligence to be able to contain emotional situations around the clinic
- Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
- Collaboration skills demonstrating a strong desire to build rapport and solid relationships with team members, clients and the community
- Financial skills to understand the needs of the business and the importance of growing revenues and controlling expenses
- Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude are a must

The Practice managers are the gatekeepers of the clinics and they will be fully supported by the Operations Director, with access to different resources, including continuous training and development to support and ensure their success in managing the clinic.

**Job Types: Full-time, Permanent**

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
