Overview:
The Dispatcher is responsible for the sales support and transportation needs of the Edmonton market. This individual reports to the Logistics Supervisor and ensures effective order scheduling, dispatching and fleet utilization of 70+ Ready Mix Drivers from 2-6 plants locations in an extremely fast paced environment. Responsibilities also include interacting with customers to ensure a high level of customer service. Additionally, this individual will need to ensure proper system utilization, management as well as insuring consistent process management related to daily scheduling, ticketing, and driver utilization. The Dispatch/ Order Scheduler will need to work closely with the customer, sales, and logistics to ensure effective customer service.

Safety:

- Implement and adhere to Lafarge Safety policy. Reinforce safety guidelines with employees, vendors and subcontractors at job sites and on Lafarge property.

Transportation & Logistics:

- Establish win-win relationships with drivers, plant personnel and sales to provide the best transportation services at the lowest sustainable cost. Identifies opportunities to lower freight rates (driver overtime monitoring and plant utilization). Works with outside vendors for maintenance scheduling. Maintains or improves order entry and dispatch systems and procedures to provide on-time delivery and effective communication with customers and internal personnel.

Customer Service:

- The focus of this role is to provide the highest levels of customer service while optimizing available resources. Works with staff to assist sales with customer communication, order processing, customer delivery and system support. Receives customer complaints and ensures effective and timely resolution.

Administration:

- Ensure effective data entry, utilization and coordination with other sales and customer service personnel. Provide Logistics and Operations with required daily and weekly KPI reports.

**Relationships with Others Jobs**:

- Reports to the Logistics Manager; Works closely with Sales, Customer Service team and Plant Personnel.
- Coordinate closely with product line personnel to ensure effective customer service and logistics coordination.

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Coordinating Customer Service & Logistics activities and personnel.
- Customer Service Process ownership.
- Providing effective transportation services at the best cost.

Qualifications:
**Education & Work Experience**:

- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of construction and trucking industry an asset.
- Preference will be given to people with Logistics experience

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Strong customer focus.
- Results oriented. Disciplined and process-oriented.
- Excellent people skills - able to develop effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Strong work ethic. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective computer and systems skills.
