Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 12 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.
**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ayás Mén̓men Administration Department, this position reports directly to the Delegated manager, the Social Worker Assistant position provides case management assistance and assumes limited delegated authority under the Child Family and Community Service Act. Working under the direction of a delegated Social Worker, the Social Work Assistant provides support for a range of clients in such areas as daily living, resources, programs, and transportation. Helps assure that services provided are meeting the child, youth, or/and families needs. This Position requires strong knowledge of federal and provincial Child & Family Service policies, practices and protocols, including knowledge of delegated authority from the provincial Ministry of Child & Family Development is required. This is a dynamic position with a need for flexibility, structure, and organization given the diversity of job duties. The incumbent is required to have a good understanding of the professional staff’s requirements, court processes, case management techniques, and community resources. The incumbent is responsible for adhering to relevant policy and procedures, carrying out their work activities professionally and responsibly. Position has a high level of people interaction, requiring tact, diplomacy. In addition, the role includes support strong connections for children in care to their home communities, their culture and their relations. The role assists with the opportunity for children to support and facilitate strong connections with for children and youth with their culture, community and family.

**Salary**: $ 76,499 - $ 85,634 annally, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
