Banquet Captain

We are currently seeking a **Banquet Captain **to join our team.

**Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to**:

- Serve as onsite contact person for coordination details of events with clients, meeting planners, and all departments involved with the event.
- Read and analyze banquet event order in order to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, etc.
- Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements.
- Design, confirm, and communicate room layouts and set-up requirements for special events.
- Setup event rooms to client specifications (tables, chairs, buffets, audio visual, etc.)
- Setup and oversee food and beverage service.
- Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service.
- Liaise with Event Managers to ensure all event details are communicated to team.
- Prepare daily list of duties for Banquet Porters.
- Ensure audio-visual requirements from third party providers are being achieved to deliver optimum service for guests.
- Communicate service needs to kitchen throughout functions.
- Respond to guest inquiries and concerns and offer solutions.
- Manage end of function billing through CI/TY.
- Assist with payroll and reconciling gratuity spreadsheets.
- Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**:

- Must have at least 1 years’ experience in catering/conference services.
- Degree/Diploma from an accredited University/College in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related major considered an asset.
- Flexibility with schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service throughout the entire customer experience.
- Command of the English language both written and verbal.
- Pleasant and outgoing personality with demonstrated organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist others within the department when needed.
- A detail orientated individual.
- Must be able to work with mínimal direct supervision.
